1. Who We Are

Farris Consulting Group LLC ("FCG," "we," "us," or "our") provides compliance consulting, professional education, and licensed investigative services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information through our website at FarrisConsultingGroup.com and any related pages, forms, courses, and online services we operate (collectively, the "Site").

This policy covers information collected through the Site. Information you provide to us in the course of a consulting, training, or investigative engagement is governed by your engagement agreement with us and by our professional confidentiality obligations, which are addressed in Section 8 below.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.


2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly. We collect information you choose to provide, including when you complete a contact or quote-request form, subscribe to a newsletter or email list, download a resource such as a guide or checklist, register for or purchase a course, create an account, post a comment, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Mailing address
  • Company or agency name and job title
  • Professional license information you choose to provide
  • The content of your message or inquiry
  • Payment and billing information, processed as described below

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by our hosting platform and any analytics tools we use, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed, time spent, and links clicked
  • Referring website or search terms
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Approximate geographic location derived from IP address

Cookies and similar technologies. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and support marketing. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Some parts of the Site, including course access, may not function properly if you disable cookies.

Do Not Track. Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. There is currently no industry standard for how to respond to these signals. Our Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.


3. Payment Information

Course purchases and other payments are processed by third-party payment processors. Payment processors handle that information under their own privacy policies and security standards.


4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide quotes for services

  • Issue certificates, credentials, and continuing education records, and report course completions to regulators or licensing bodies where required
  • Process payments and maintain business records
  • Send administrative messages about your account, purchases, or our services
  • Send marketing communications where you have opted in, which you may unsubscribe from at any time
  • Improve the Site, our courses, and our services
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations, including recordkeeping requirements applicable to our licensed activities

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers. Vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website and course hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and analytics. These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us.
  • Regulators and licensing bodies. Where required, including course completion reporting for continuing education credit.
  • Professional advisors. Our attorneys, accountants, and insurers, as needed.
  • Legal requirements. When we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of FCG, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

6. Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include access controls, multi-factor authentication on administrative accounts, encryption of information in transit and at rest where available through our platforms, and periodic review of our security practices.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining course and certification records, meeting recordkeeping obligations that apply to our licensed activities, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we dispose of it securely.


8. Client and Engagement Information

Information we receive in the course of a consulting, training, or investigative engagement, including information about our clients' customers, is handled under the terms of the applicable engagement agreement, our professional confidentiality obligations, and any applicable legal requirements. That information is not used for marketing, is not shared except as the engagement or law requires, and is not covered by the Site-focused provisions of this policy.


9. Your Choices and Rights

Marketing emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email us at the address in Section 13. Unsubscribing does not stop transactional messages about purchases or account activity.

Access, correction, and deletion. You may request that we provide, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the information in Section 13 and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we may decline requests where the law permits or requires us to retain information.

State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request deletion or correction, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, contact us as described in Section 13.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site and our courses are intended for professionals and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.


11. Third-Party Websites

The Site may link to websites we do not operate, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and vendors. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.


12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last Updated date above. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as a notice on the Site or an email to subscribers. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
